PVC compounds combine resin with additives selected for the application.
PVC compounds combine resin with additives selected for the application. Plasticizers influence flexibility, stabilizers support heat stability during processing and lubricants affect processing behaviour. Fillers and pigments also influence mechanics and appearance. Evaluate these components as a system rather than in isolation.
Where to start formulation development
Define finished-product hardness, mechanical targets, appearance and processing conditions. Record each additive's identity and loading, evaluating changes through controlled experiments. Track effects on other properties when increasing one component. A formulation from another product should not be copied without validation on your equipment against your specification.
