Define the problem before evaluating a new additive. Lower discolouration, a particular hardness and stable processing with recycled feedstock are different goals. A newer additive is not automatically suitable for an existing formulation.
How to run a controlled trial
Use the current formulation as a reference and start with one changed variable. Record mixing order, temperature, line speed and specimen conditioning. Assess ageing, migration and colour change alongside initial mechanical results. For claims about bio-based or recycled content, request the calculation method and traceability documents; these labels alone do not establish a lower environmental impact.
