PVC hose selection starts with the conveyed fluid. Internal and ambient temperature, pressure, bend radius and reinforcement change material requirements. Initial clarity and hardness do not by themselves establish service performance.
How to validate a hose formulation
Test specimens against the actual fluid and temperature conditions. Compare mass, surface, hardness and mechanical properties before and after exposure. Pressure and bending tests must also account for the construction of the finished hose. For food-contact or medical uses, validate the applicable finished-product requirements separately; an SDS is not approval for those uses.
