A non-phthalate designation and a lower life-cycle environmental impact are different matters. Chemical family, safe use and environmental comparison require different evidence. Assess feedstock, production conditions and the service life of the finished PVC product together.
Which evidence should you request?
Verify product identity using the TDS and SDS. For environmental claims, ask about the method, data year and scope. Compare alternatives providing the same function over the same service period. Lower dosage or longer life is meaningful when demonstrated through formulation and application tests. Establish measurable purchasing requirements instead of relying on a broad sustainability label.
