REACH and RoHS for PVC additives: which documents matter?
REACH and RoHS have different scopes.
REACH and RoHS have different scopes. REACH is a chemicals framework, while RoHS restricts certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. A plasticizer or stabilizer name alone does not establish finished-product compliance. Check current requirements against the destination market and intended use.
How to prepare a compliance file
Request product identity, the current SDS and a supplier declaration covering the application. Check its date, product code and substance scope. Where analysis or testing is needed, verify the batch and specimens covered. Non-phthalate or lead-free is not a declaration covering every restricted substance. Support regulatory assessment with current official material from ECHA and the European Commission.
Suitability for use
Do not infer a universal prohibition or permission covering all products and countries for DOP / DEHP or DINP. Requirements depend on substance, concentration, product category and market. Technical documentation and regulatory declarations serve different purposes.
