In flexible PVC, selection depends on target hardness, service conditions and the other formulation components. DOTP, DINP, TOTM and DOA are considered for different chemical families and application goals.
A pre-purchase checklist
Start with product identity and CAS number. Request the technical data sheet, safety data sheet and, where needed, batch certificate of analysis. Translate hardness, migration, temperature and mechanical targets into a test plan. Alongside price per kilogram, assess required dosage, processing effects and accepted output. A chemical abbreviation is not a grade specification or compliance document.
